I start my day off much like parents did when I was growing up, only I have traded the local newspaper for a listing of inspirational and informative links. No coffee, no paper, just a glass of orange juice, a mouse and the 10 links below:
1. F*BOSTON - If you didn’t see that one coming, then you obviously don’t know me. I need to stay on top of the rivalry and this is where I get news on my New York Yankees and the hated Boston Red Sox.
2. popurls - The site has all the buzz from the web’s most popular and heavily tracked networks. Although it has everything I could ever want, I rarely check any links beyond the del.icio.us column.
3. WebAppers - Features a daily posting of the web’s best open source resources for web developers. A quick and easy resource for ajax applications and code snippets.
4. Smashing Magazine - A web designer’s dream blog. Whether you are a developer, designer, or both, they have some great inspiration. Their Best of the Month is always something to look forward to.
5. Mashable! - The social networking blog. It’s a bit tedious to weed through all of their daily stories and Pete Cashmore’s ego, but they are definitely on the up-and-up in their reviews of the net’s next big thing.
6. Go to Web 2.0 - This is home to the best directory of web 2.0 applications and services.
7. Noupe - Another design-developer blog. The articles aren’t as frequent, but when they are posted, it makes checking daily worth it.
8. Webcreme - A showcase for web design inspiration. Of all the galleries out there, this one consistently posts the best designed sites I have come across.
9. Fresh Air Apps - A showcase for Adobe Air applications, tutorials, and resources. I am obsessed with Adobe Air and concept of beautiful simple applications that work across all platforms. Read more about my obsession here.
10. Woot - Get some very cool products for a cheap price for one day only. I haven’t bought anything lately, but I am always hoping something on my wishlist will make an appearance.
